Austin Rubick's Experience
Austin Rubick, a talented right-handed pitcher born on August 11, 1997, in Ventura, California, has demonstrated his skills both in college and minor league baseball. With an impressive high school career at Buena High School in Ventura, Rubick compiled 21 wins, maintained a remarkable 1.34 ERA, and recorded 229 strikeouts in 177 innings pitched. His outstanding performance earned him recognition on the 2015 Perfect Game High School Senior Preseason All-America Second Team and the 2015 Perfect Game Preseason California Region All High School Senior First Team All County.
After declining the Cleveland Indians’ draft offer in 2015, Rubick pursued college baseball at the University of Arizona. Under the guidance of experienced coaches and alongside talented teammates, Rubick continued to hone his skills. In 2015/2016, Rubick and the University of Arizona baseball team secured a 2nd place finish in the College World Series.
Rubick’s professional journey began when he was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 20th round (594th overall) of the 2017 MLB June Amateur Draft from Ventura College. Despite having a full scholarship offer from the University of Hawaii, Rubick opted to sign a professional contract with the Brewers. He spent three full seasons in the Brewers’ minor league system, showcasing his talent and dedication to the game.
